Do I have to be in the UK to apply for an Expat Car Rental?
No, you can arrange the expat car rental before you arrive into the UK or once you’re in the UK, whatever is easier for you.
How quickly can I get the car?
So long as you have given us enough notice and a credit line is in place, we can get your car to you the day you arrive in the UK, we even ofer an optional Airport Meet and Greet service.
Are the cars brand new?
On our Expat Car Rental service, our cars are usually registered with little mileage. Its very rare for one of our vehicles to have been out with another customer, although we will tell you if the car has any mileage on it.
Can I fix into a contract?
On our Expat Car Rental service we do offer 6, 9 and 12 month contract periods, we also offer Expat Car Leases which usually work out slightly cheaper but these are not flexible.
Can I specify which car I want?
The cars listed on our website, are cars that are currently sat in our inventory and you will receive that actual car and not something similar. However, you cannot specify a type of vehicle due to the unique way we source our cars.
What documents do I need to provide?
Our experienced underwriters deal with Expat car lease applications on a daily basis, they will require the following documents as a minimum:
- Residency Information
- Copy of Passport
- Copy of Valid Drivers Licence
- Copy of Tenancy Agreement
- Copy of Employment Details in the UK
They may also require details of a UK bank account for the Direct Debit, although we do now offer a monthly card payment service.
Are there any additional charges to pay?
At the beginning we will take a documentation fee of £ + VAT.
We do have administration charges that cover bounced Direct Debit Payments, Late Payments and Parking Charge Notice administration charges. These will all be detailed in contract and only payable should one of these instances occur.
Does insurance come included on this Expat Car Rental?
Insurance is not something we supply on any of our Expat Car Rental solutions. We have worked out that it is usually cheaper to insure the vehicle separately than take out a daily rental car with insurance over a long period of time.
We also recommend that you take a 12 month insurance policy as it works out much cheaper than using a short term car insurance provider, even after paying cancellation fees.
Are there any administration fees?
Yes, we charge administration fees for receiving offences such as speeding infringements, parking charging notices, bounced direct debits and late payment charges. A full list of these administration charges can be requested from our administration team.
How much does it cost to have the vehicle delivered?
We delivery the vehicle free of charge in England and Wales. We also offer an optional Airport Meet and Greet for all Expats for all of the major airports in England & Wales.
What happens at the end of the contract?
You can return the vehicle free of charge to our specified de-fleet centre or we can arrange for the vehicle to be collected at cost. The cost is calculated on the pickup point back to the specified de-fleet centre.
When do I have to pay?
We take the intial rental and documentation fee at the point of ordering, should you have to cancel an agency fee may be payable, this will be clearly displayed on the order form.
If you have not signed an order form and wish to cancel, no charge is applicable and should you have paid any money to us, we will refund this.
Monthly rentals will be due 1 month after the delivery date and monthly thereafter. We offer the option to move the Direct Debit to a specifed date but this may be subject to a pro-rata payment.
You will only pay for the time you have had the vehicle, so should we take a monthly rental but you are in it for a few days, we will refund the difference less any owed monies.
How do I terminate by Expat Car Rental?
As this is a month by month agreement, so long as you have covered your minimum qualifying period (to get the best price), then you can complete a return vehicle request form. We will aim to process your return on the specified date.
If you require a collection a charge is applicable.
Do you offer Airport Meet and Greets?
Yes we do, tis is an optional service depending on the airport and the time of day. But our driver can meet you at any of the major airports in Engand & Wales and hand over your vehicle at the airport.
